Edinburgh Area Guide

We like to think our barbers are the eyes and ears of the areas they work. Often found savouring what the local area has to offer, particularly if there is alcohol involved. The Edinburgh team tapped into their knowledge of the local area and pulled together their favourite local spots that you need to give a try – Welcome to the Ruffians Edinburgh Area Guide:

BREAKFAST – The Caffeine Drip

A south African Café and Bakery – rustic downstairs hideaway. Caters to everyone, and has many ‘create your own’ options. Their poached eggs always deliver that  ‘yolk porn’ moment for your IG stories (and are consistently delicious).

COFFEE – Cairngorm Coffee Co

Speciality coffee shop with a chill, communal feel. Bright, open interior – perfect for getting some work done to chatting with a friend. Bar looking out the window with Ipads for customers to use, their own merch and freshly made sandwiches and cakes on offer.

LUNCH –  @Pizza

Relatively new to the west end but a fresh and innovative addition. Pizza ready in 90 seconds, totally tailored to you from the base, to any amount of toppings that you can dream up.

DRINKS – Sygn Bar

An instantly familiar environment, with fun murals over every wall – including the ceiling! There’s a private function room offering Beer Pong tables. A wide selection of drinks – right down to slushies and boozy milkshakes. If you’re after a late night snack, the nachos are always a hit!

SHOPPING – Frontiers Man

For Edinburgh’s sartorially savvy shoppers, stocking a wide range of independent men’s brands – many that are otherwise tricky to find in Scotland.

SUMMER HANGS – Affogato & Dean Village

When our barbers aren’t cutting hair, they’re soaking in the rare Scottish Sunshine on our bench outside with an ice cream from Affogato – a simple spot where the gelato is freshly made on site! You can often catch Epix the shop dog hanging out waiting for pats – or for you to buy him some of the dog-only gelato. It’s the perfect spot to stop before a walk across the bridge and down through the scenic and stunning Dean Village.
